If you have an order from your doctor or healthcare provider for a mammogram, no appointment is needed. Mammography services are available on a walk-in basis with minimal wait times at our Anchorage location. You may also choose to schedule your mammogram at a time most convenient for you. How to Prepare for Your Mammogram Appointment:

On the day of your Mammogram:

Specific instructions will be provided to you based on your scheduled exam type, however general instructions are as follows:

  • No lotions, powders, or deodorants around the breast area.
  • If you are nursing, you must wait at least 6 months after you have stopped nursing for a screening mammogram.

  • Be prepared to have an additional ultrasound exam that same day if needed, based on results. This is typically a 30 minute wait while the Radiologist determines necessity.
